This guide outlines the proper way to notify Honcho if your team must forfeit a scheduled match. Timely communication allows us to notify your opponent and reallocate court time.

🕒 When to Forfeit

Set-Partner Doubles

If you’re unable to attend a scheduled match and can’t find a substitute, you must notify Honcho at least 2 days in advance by filling out the Match Issue Form, located at the top of your Schedule Page. This will send a notification to the other team.

✅ If your opponent forfeits, you and your team are welcome to use the court during your scheduled time to practice, drill, or invite friends to play. Don’t let good court time go to waste!

Pro-tip: Swing by 15 minutes early—teams finishing up might be down for a friendly scrimmage!

Ladder League

If you can’t attend your scheduled Ladder League match, you must notify Honcho at least 2 days in advance by submitting the Match Issue Form, located at the top of your Game Feed, and let the players know that you won’t make it, and request a sub. This ensures we can update your group and avoid leaving others without a full foursome.

🧾 What Happens After You Forfeit

Set-Partner Doubles

• Your opponent will automatically be awarded the win.
• Your team will receive a loss for that match.
• In the event of a forfeit, the present team will be awarded a match win for standings purposes, but game scores/number of games won will not be assumed. To maintain fairness and accuracy in standings and ratings, we do not award unearned game wins.

Ladder League

• You will receive 0 wins for that week.
