This guide outlines the proper way to notify Honcho if your team must forfeit a scheduled match. Timely communication allows us to notify your opponent and reallocate court time.
Set-Partner Doubles
<aside> 📝
Forfeits in Same Partner League should not be submitted until the schedule is live, since the form needs your matchup info. Please wait until your schedule is released before submitting. And remember—we’d much rather you send a sub than forfeit. It keeps the matches fun and competitive for everyone!

1️⃣ Find a sub(s) (any like skilled player(s) work).
2️⃣ If you truly can’t, submit the Match Issue Form at least 2 days ahead so your opponents are notified:

✅ If your opponents forfeit, feel free to use the court for practice or games.
Pro-tip: Swing by 15 minutes early—teams finishing up might be down for a friendly scrimmage!
Ladder League
<aside> 📝
The Absentee Form will go live 2 business days before your season starts. Please wait until then to submit. For Ladder League, submit absent forms only if you weren’t able to arrange your own sub (can be a player in the league already or not!)
Reminder: We expect players to arrange for a sub to play in their place. Only use the form as a last resort if you can’t provide your own sub (preferred). Forms submitted & No-Shows count towards attendance strikes.

If you can’t attend your Ladder League match, please don’t no-show your group.
1️⃣ (always): Arrange a sub.
Any like-skilled player can sub — they do not need to be in Honcho or in the league.
Pro-tip: Send a message in the Swish Group Feed to see if anyone in the league would like extra court time. If not, try to find someone outside of the league!
