This guide outlines the proper way to notify Honcho if your team must forfeit a scheduled match. Timely communication allows us to notify your opponent and reallocate court time.
Can’t make your league night?
Here's What to Do.
Ladder Leagues
- Still within the RSVP window? Just RSVP no — no penalty, no problem. You're done.
- Already RSVP'd yes? You're on the schedule. Find a sub to play in your place.
- Log your sub in the league platform before league night — click "Sub for this week" and enter your subs name. Learn how here.
- Make sure they know when and where to show up.
⚠️ RSVP'd yes and didn't show up = attendance strike. RSVP'd yes, sent a sub, but didn't log their name in the system = could also result in an attendance strike.
Always do both: arrange your sub AND log their name. 3 strikes = removed from the league, no refund.
Same-Partner Doubles League
- Send a sub: Find someone around your team's skill level to step in. You can use subs for one or both players if needed during the regular season.
- Missing your teammate but no sub lined up? Arrive 15–20 minutes early and ask someone finishing up if they'd jump in. Pickleball players are almost always down for more court time!
- Truly can't make it? Let your opponents know by submitting a forfeit so they're not left waiting. This forfeit button will be found in your Weekly League Night Reminder Email.
- You can only forfeit for the upcoming week. If you foresee a schedule issue further into the season - use that time to arrange subs.
⚠️ 3 forfeits or no-shows in a season = removed from the league, no refund.
📌 Subs (non-rostered) players are not eligible to advance in playoffs. Take a peek at our Playoff section of the Help Center to learn more!
